Rosalie Youngman

Rosalie Youngman, age 85, formerly of Dover died, Friday, July 21, 2023, while in the care of Legends Care Center at Massillon.

Born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on January 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Carrie Evelyn (McClain) Herron.

Rosalie attended the New Philadelphia City Schools.  She worked alongside her husband John for many years at Greer Steel and later served as a home health care assistant.  She loved to bake, especially cookies and candy.  Her grandkids affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Candy” because she always had candy to give to them.  

Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, crafting and spending time with family and friends.  She also loved traveling with her late husband John and eating out at local restaurants. They also loved driving, having made many cross-country trips.

Rosalie is survived by her sons, Bob (Gretchen) Fincher, and Ron (Carrie) Fincher; step-son Ty (Sherri) Youngman; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her first husband, James Fincher, second husband, John Youngman; son, Steve Fincher; brothers, Jimmy, Charles “Chink” and Jerry Herron; and sisters, Joanne Stephens, and Carol R. Sergent Regula.

A memorial celebration of Rosalie’s life will be led by Pastor David Wing on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 6:30 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
