Ronald L. McIntyre

Ronald L. McIntyre was born June 24, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, to Wilbur and Loretta McIntyre. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force, attending basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, and then onto Rantoul City where he was an equipment handler and put parachutes and personal equipment together at Chanute AFB.  During his time in the Air Force, he served in Korea during the Korean Conflict.  When he returned to the US, he was stationed at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL where he met the love of his life, Mary Adcock, and they married May 1, 1954. Together, they had four wonderful children, Terry McIntyre (Cathy), Mike McIntyre (Karen), Ann Baxter (Eric), Lynn McIntyre. Ron worked almost 30 years at Warner & Swasey where he had the opportunity to travel to 48 states and 49 countries.  Following his successful career at W & S, Ron went to work for the Geib Family at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home for another 10 years, where he retired in 1995.  Ron was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his brothers Ralph (Barbara) & Rick (Cheryl) and his parents.  He is survived by his four children, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was known as a kindhearted, hardworking, intelligent man and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.  Shortly before he died, he offered the following words of advice; to my dear family take advantage of any career opportunities that arise and look to the future.  I have learned is the value of a loving, supportive family that money can’t buy. Possessions and material items are only THINGS, but the love of family is EVERYTHING!  On January 30th, 2024, Ron passed away peacefully in his sleep at his new home in Florida while surrounded by family.
