Robert L. Williams

Apr 8, 1933 — Oct 17, 2026

Robert Lee Williams, age 93, of Dover, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in his residence, while under the care of Crossroads Hospice, following a brief period of declining health.

Born on April 8, 1933, in Dover, Ohio, Bob was a son of the late Russell and Elsie Scheetz Williams.

He was a 1951 graduate of Strasburg Franklin High School and honorably served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955. Professionally, Bob was employed by Gradall at New Philadelphia, retiring in 1995 following 40 years of faithful service.

Bob was a member of the Dover VFW honor guard for many years. He enjoyed maintaining his lawn and flower gardens, attending and supporting of his children and later his grandchildren, and following his beloved Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Dover Tornadoes. His favorite pastime, however, was never turning down the opportunity to play a round of Euchre.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patricia Williams, whom he married in 1997; a daughter, Brenda (companion, Steven Miller) Williams-Rees; a son, Robert Steven (Julie) Williams, a step-daughter, Barb (Drew) Yosick all of Dover; a step-son, Jim (Betsy) Meese of Michigan; grandchildren, Brian (companion, Rikki Metcalf) Williams, Eric (Holly) Williams, and Brittany Rees; step-grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Tony (Sophia) Yosick, Elliott and Anna Meese, and Erin (Heath) Lebold, Emily (fiancé, Caleb) and Zack Meese; great-grandchildren, Charlee, Isaac, Mikalynn and Keylee’; and step-great-grandchildren, Haley, Sawyer, Rawlings, and Wilder.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Starkey, and a stepson, Steve Meese.

Per Bob’s wishes, a private celebration of his life will take place at a later date. As family and friends remember him, they will carry with them fond memories of a life well lived, and a man deeply loved. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling arrangements.

Instead of donations, Bob requested that his life be honored by doing a good deed for someone in need.

The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers who have been so attentive during his illness, especially his hospice caregivers at Crossroads Hospice who made his last days comforting.
