Robert Ward

Robert Derrill Ward, age 58, formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday, August 4, 2023, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.

Born on December 2, 1964, in Alliance, Ohio, Bob was a son of the late John Wayne and Mary Francis (Gill) Ward.

Bob loved spending time with his grandkids.  He was also an avid Cleveland Indians fan and was known by all as having a green thumb with his gardens.

He is survived by his children, Robert “Bo” (Cheyenne) Ward of New Philadelphia, and Kara Ward of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Kenzley, Isaiah, and Ellie; sister, Cheryl (Dennis) Robinson; brothers, Joe (Jeanne) Ward, Kenny (Julia) Ward, and Ronnie Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Karen (Klett) Ward whom he married on April, 27, 1991.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 12:00 - 2:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  Pastor Aaron Menard will lead a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
