Robert Earl McCaulley, age 86, formerly of Magnolia, died Thursday, June 12, 2025 Under the care of Elara Caring Hospice while in the Gables of Canton.
Born in Aultman Hospital at Canton on March 25, 1939, Robert was a son of the late Robert J. and Margaret Costello McCaulley.
Having been raised in Bolivar, Robert was a member of the first graduating class from Tusky Valley High School. In his younger years he was known for his athletic abilities having set a school pole vault record that went unmatched for over 16 years. He enjoyed water skiing and even played semi-pro baseball. In his later years he cheered on any Ohio State sports team and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians. Additionally, Robert loved hunting, playing cards, and playing bingo. He had a tremendous sense of humor and loved having fun making up nicknames for nearly everyone he encountered throughout life.
Professionally, Robert was a Union Electrician having worked for numerous IBEW halls throughout the years.
On November 18, 1960, he married the love of his life, the former Sidney Gail Geib, following a five-month courtship. Together the couple raised four children and shared in nearly 47 years of marriage prior to Sidney’s passing October 17, 2007. His biggest passion in life, however, was his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and supporting them in their activities.
Robert is survived by his children, Brian McCaulley of Canton, Todd McCaulley of Magnolia, Jeff McCaulley of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Lara (Ron) Huguenot of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren, Kathryn “Katie”, Steven, Brendan and Gavin McCaulley, Kennedy and Lauren McCaulley, and Seth McCaulley; a sister, Marilyn Benson of Perry Township and his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by three siblings Margaret, Bill, and Jim.

Burial, alongside his wife, will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
