Robert Kail, Jr.

Robert Dale Kail, Jr., age 67, of Midvale, died Monday, October 13, 2025, following a period of declining health while in the care of Divine Health and Rehabilitation at New Philadelphia.

A son of the late Ruby Storrie Kail and Robert D. Kail, Sr, Bob was born in Union Hospital at Dover on January 29, 1958.

He was a 1976 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He began his working career at IF Manufacturing working alongside his father until the plant closed. He then worked for a number of years at the former Handy & Harman Company at Dover and Lauren Manufacturing before starting his own contracting and handyman business.

Bob was a lifelong, avid, sports fan who loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland sports teams, especially the Guardians. Bob also enjoyed playing poker, cornhole and basketball.

Surviving are his sons, Andrew Kail of Dellroy and Robert Kail of Midvale; his grandchildren, Anna and Ava Kail; a brother, Rick Kail of Louisville, Ohio, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Kail, and a brother, Ron Kail.

A memorial visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1 – 3 PM. Guests attending are encouraged to wear their favorite sports gear to honor Bob’s life. Following the visitation a meal and fellowship will be shared in the Geib Family Center until 5 PM.
