Robert L. Eick

Robert L. Eick, 77, of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Bethany Nursing Home at Canton, following a period of declining health.

Born in Leesville, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Helen (Coultrap) Eick and grew up attending the Leesville United Methodist Church at Leesville. He was a proud graduate of Conotton Valley High School at Bowerston, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and a passion for exercise.

Robert had worked for the former Evanite Plastic Company in Carrollton, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. His commitment to his work was matched only by his zest for life.

An avid golfer, Robert cherished the time spent on the greens and took great pride in having traveled to Scotland to experience the storied Old Course at St. Andrews, a pilgrimage that highlighted his love for the game. Golfing was not just a hobby for Robert; it represented a way for him to connect with nature and foster friendships.

In addition to golfing, Robert maintained an active lifestyle through exercise and had previously enjoyed playing racquetball for several years. His passion for physical fitness exemplified his dedication to maintaining a healthy balance in life.

Robert is survived by his brother, Richard (Cheryl) Eick of Dover; his two sisters, Carol Mough of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Barbara Bell of Anaheim, California and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd “Ed” Eick.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, cremation care will be provided by the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and public services are not to be scheduled.
