Robert E. Dennis

Robert E. Dennis, 75, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2023 in his home.

Born in Canton, he was the son of the late LeRoy and Mary Jane (Wesie) Dennis and had retired from working as a Maintenance Supervisor of Shady Lawn Nursing Home at Dalton. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish and was a handyman that could fix anything. He loved working on cars and his family will also remember how he loved to cook. His two specialties being steaks and his homemade spaghetti sauce.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joyce B. (Royer) Dennis of the residence; his seven children, Paul Ferrell, Robert Dennis, Carol Dennis, Debbie Dennis, Roberta Shafer, Jacqueline Moss and Mary Roberts-Gorby; four brothers, Richard Dennis, LeRoy “Wayne” Dennis, Paul Dennis, Thomas Dennis and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Louise Dennis.

In keeping with his wishes, Robert is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. The family will host a celebration of Robert’s life at a later date.
