Rita Isabella Contini

Mrs. Rita Isabella Contini, 92, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away to be with her husband, Louis, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 20, 2026.

Born on April 11, 1934, Rita lived a remarkably healthy life spanning nearly a century. She witnessed a changing world with grace, resilience, and a steady, quite strength that anchored her entire family. To her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she was the heart of the home. A gentle presence, a fierce protector, and a constant source of unconditional love.

Rita filled her 92 years with the things that mattered most. Whether she was reading her Bible, reading her health magazines, walking for her health, tending her gardens, taking care of her yard, talking to her family, talking to her best friend Bertha every night, spending time with her family, going to events of her grandchildren, working at the church food pantry, whatever it was that she did, she did it with grace and class. Her hands were rarely still and her ears were always open to everyone. She valued everyone.

She deeply believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and the quiet strength of her faith guided her steps every single day.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of kindness, patience, and her faith. We are profoundly grateful that God blessed us with her presence, her wisdom, and her love and devotion for 92 wonderful years.

She is now peacefully reunited with her beloved husband, Louis, who passed away 21 years ago in 2005. Together, they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, a beautiful legacy of love and commitment that continues to inspire their family.

She leaves behind a rich lineage and is survived by her loving children, her oldest son, Anthony and his wife Kimberly, her son Jeffrey and his wife Angela, and her daughter Leann and her husband Scott Trammell. Her gentle spirit lives on through her 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored beyond measure.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; parents, Raymond and Josephine (Valentinelli) Martinelli; 7 siblings; and her grandson, Trevor Trammell.

No services will be held honoring her wishes. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Louis, in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
