Rhonda Jenkins

Rhonda L. Jenkins, age 67, of Dover, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025.

A daughter of Margene (Gopp) McCune of Dover and the late Donald L. McCune, Rhonda was born in Union Hospital at Dover on February 17, 1958.

She was a 1976 graduate of Dover High School. While in high school she was a proud member of the Dover Tornadoes Marching Band. She was the head majorette her senior year. She marched with the band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

After high school Rhonda continued her education and received her nursing degree. She worked for 22 years as a labor and delivery nurse at Union Hospital. In her free-time she enjoyed planning family vacations, especially to New York at Christmas time. She also enjoyed hosting family for holiday celebrations.

On September 2, 1983 she married Barry Jenkins and together they enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage before his passing in August of 2013.

Rhonda is survived by her daughter, Tara (Derrick) Jenkins of Dover; granddaughter, Olivia Xayavong; mother, Margene McCune of Dover; brother, Scott (Kelly) McCune of Dover; sister, Bonnie (Marvin) Croy of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and husband.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.
