Peggy Barron

Peggy Sue Barron, age 65, of New Philadelphia, passed away, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, Cleveland Clinic at Cleveland after a short battle with cancer.

Born November 13, 1957, in Union Hospital at Dover, Peggy was a daughter of Donald Gintz, Sr. and Marilyn (Heter) Gintz Otte.

Peggy was a loving caregiver to her mother for many years.  Her life revolved around her family.  She always made sure her family had a birthday party, even in adulthood.  In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and doing crafts.

Peggy is survived by her mother, Marilyn Otte of New Philadelphia; children, Steve Atwood of New Philadelphia, Eric (Lisa) Atwood of Gnadenhutten, and Jennifer (Stan) Cox of Dover; grandchildren, Cassidy Cox, Lillie Cox, Preston Cox, Trevor Atwood, Alexis Clark, Brianna Clark, and Chloe Clark; brother, Donald (Darlene) Gintz; sister, Katheryn Gintz; and step-sisters, Lori Maxwell, Deborah Frizzell, and Kate Martin.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gintz, Sr.; step-brother, William Maxwell, Jr.; and grandparents, Elmer and Olive Heter.

The family will greet guests, on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10:00 to 12:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Pastor Randy Stull will lead a service at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will immediately follow in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
