Millard “Pede” Meese, 81, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, in Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia after a period of declining health.
Born in Canton, Ohio on January 9, 1943, Pede was a son of the late Millard Franklin and Ruth (Thomas) Meese. He was a 1961 graduate of Midvale High School.
Pede served as a firefighter for the City of New Philadelphia for 24 years, retiring as a captain. In retirement he also served as a staff associate for Geib Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Jean whom he married on September 12, 1964; his children, Shelley (Tom) Lindberg of Dover, and Pam (Tim) Anderson of North Ridgeville; grandsons, Travis (Giovonna) Harmon of Zoarville, and Seth Anderson of North Ridgeville; granddaughter, Emily (Joey Emery) Harmon of Dover; great-grandchildren, Harper, Oliver and one soon to be born; brother, John (Todd Zoscak) Meese of Shaker Heights; and sister-in-law, Sue Bhe of Asheboro, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Thomas Meese.
Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory.
