Nellie O. Curry, age 91, of New Philadelphia, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, while in Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born on August 2, 1935, in Charleston, West Virginia, Nellie was a daughter of the late Lee and Margaret (Miller) Ferrebee.

Nellie led an adventurous life. She loved to travel and find new places to shop and frequent local garage sales. She was a gifted seamstress, and loved to sing. In her younger years she worked as a nurse’s aide. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She was one of the most nurturing people one could ever meet.

She is survived by her children, Gilbert (Carol) Sinnett of Rootstown, OH, and Brenda (David) Olsafsky of Tippecanoe, OH; grandchildren, Landon (Erin) Sinnett, Shannon Sinnett, Abriel (Brandon) Shoup, and Audra Baker; step-grandchildren, Chelsea (Michael) Butler, and Christine (Tracey) Mullett; great-grandchildren, Payton, Pearson, Preston, Trysten, Megan, Toria, Mina, Lilly, and Mason; step-great-grandchild, Wyatt; great-great-grandchildren, Rosie, Calia, Kylin, and Myles; brother, Larry (Christine) Ferrebee; sister, Carol Lutz; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Curry; son, Carl Nelson Sinnett; grandson, Austin W. Melchor; brothers, Marshall Ferrebee, and Don Ferrebee; and sister, Sarah Sloane.

In honoring her wishes, cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
