Nathaniel “Nate” Kamban, age 39, of New Philadelphia, passed away on July 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 21, 1986, in Dover. He was the beloved son of Randy and Irene (Pietro) Kamban. 

On August 1, 2009, Nate married Amanda Robinson, his best friend and the love of his life. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to one another and their five children: Lyla, Tytus, Malachi, Silas, and Iris. Nate was a deeply present husband and father who found his greatest joy in sharing life's everyday moments with his family. Whether they were exploring a new city, hiking a trail, or gathering around the dinner table, he had a remarkable way of making each moment meaningful. 

Nate's love of learning and appreciation for other cultures led him to become fluent in multiple languages. This extraordinary ability allowed him to communicate with people from many backgrounds and, more importantly, to form lasting relationships both at home and during his travels abroad. His curiosity, openness, and willingness to meet people where they were helped create a more welcoming and inclusive community wherever he went. 

His leadership and vision were a remarkable gift to the Tuscarawas Valley. He became Ohio's youngest superintendent of a county board, serving with the Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Alongside his colleagues, he fostered a culture of compassion and dignity that enriched the lives of the individuals and families they served. As a gifted grant writer, Nate also secured critical funding that expanded opportunities and services for countless individuals with developmental disabilities, leaving a lasting impact on the community. 

In addition to his beloved wife and children, Nate is survived by his parents, Randy and Irene Kamban; his siblings, Kacey Chapman and Michael (Rylie) Kamban; his nieces and nephews; numerous extended family members, dear friends and his faithful service dog, Haven. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nate's life on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
