Maxine Slagle

Maxine R. Slagle, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2024 in Country Club Retirement Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.

Born on February 27, 1930 in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Howell and Grace (Higgins) Williams.

After graduation from high school, Maxine married the love of her life, Albert Slagle on August 21, 1948. Together they enjoyed 43 years of marriage before his passing on June 29, 1992.

She was a caring mother and grandmother. Maxine spent her life giving to others, and making sure her family were well cared. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard.

Maxine is survived by her children, Dean (Mia) Slagle of Dayton, and Robert (Bonnie) Slagle of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Robert (Nicole) Slagle II, Sherrie (Jason) Ebert, Michael Slagle, and Steven Slagle; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kylie, Brody, Brennen, Bryson, Addison, Nathaniel, Braylon, and Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Slagle; parents, Howell and Grace Williams; brothers, Donald Williams, and Robert Williams; and sisters, Evelyn Davis, and Violet Beadle

Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Bruce Sexton will lead a graveside service on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM in East Ave. Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
