Max Eugene Penrod II, 29, of Midvale, died on Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Union Hospital at Dover from an unknown medical condition.A son of Max and Carol (Maurer) Penrod, Max was born September 12, 1979 at Ft. Hauchuca, Arizona.Max graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1998 and then attended the Akron Barber College. He most recently was working as a barber at Helms Old fashioned Barber Shop at New Philadelphia. Max enjoyed cutting hair and he enjoyed the time spent with his customers.He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Stone Creek and he was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Max enjoyed nature and especially fishing and taking long drives through the countryside. He was also an avid gardener.Max will be remembered by his family and friends for being affectionate, having a great sense of humor and always willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. Most of all, he will be remembered for being a loving husband, father and son.In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kristen (Bloodworth) Penrod, whom he married on August 9, 2003; his children, Max Andrew Penrod and Olivia Catherine Penrod both of the home and a sister, Shannon M. Penrod of New Philadelphia and a nephew Justin Penrod of New PhiladelphiaHis mother-in-law, Diane Collins of Midvale; a sister-in-law, Lindsay (Michelle) Bloodworth of Millersburg; a brother-in-law, David (Angel) Collins of New Philadelphia; a close cousin, Bob (Catherine) Penrod and several aunts, uncles and cousins complete the family.Max was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Maurer and Ethel (Gross) Maurer Miller and her second husband, Wilson Miller; his paternal grandparents, Max L and Jean Penrod and a nephew, David Collins II.Friends may call on Thursday, January 15, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Max’s life will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor William Haggis officiating. Inurnment will be held in Dover Burial Park at a later date.
