Max Downing, 80, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday afternoon, June 23, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born in Roswell, Ohio on June 8, 1924, he was a son of the late John R. and Rose Galanga Downing.Max served his country during World War II and later was an employee of the City of New Philadelphia for nearly 20 years.In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated. No visitation or service is scheduled.
