Mary Jean “Cookie” Pallas, 81, of New Philadelphia passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Park Village Southside, following a period of declining health.
Born April 5, 1944 in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Granato Pallas.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and in her younger years, Cookie sang in the church choir.
Cookie’s favorite activities included reading, listening to classical music and tunes from the 50’s and 60’s and spending time with her sister. In the summer, she enjoyed listening to Tom Hamilton’s broadcast of her favorite Cleveland baseball team’s games. True to her name, she loved all kinds of cookies! Her chocolate chip cookies were a family favorite.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Debbie Pallas. She is also survived by several cousins, including Patty and David Proper, who always brightened her days.
Throughout her life Cookie was a devoted caregiver. She lovingly helped her mother, aunts, uncles and neighbors in any way possible.
Rest in peace, Cookie. We love you.
