Marianne Norman, age 87, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 1, 1938, in Dennison, Ohio, to the late Peter M. and Rose (Dotto) Angelo. Marianne was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1956, and later attended Ohio State Beauty College in Columbus.
Marianne dedicated much of her life to her work and her community. She owned and operated Marianne’s Beauty Salon, where she built lasting relationships with her clients. Marianne also worked as an exercise instructor with Hooker Tackle Matic in Dennison and Schoenbrunn Raquet Club in New Philadelphia. She also served for ten years with the Department of Human Services as a Family Service Aide.
A longtime resident of Dennison for 41 years, Marianne later lived in New Philadelphia for 20 years and enjoyed 20 years of residency in The Villages, Florida. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, during her time in high school she served the church as organist for the high school masses.
Marianne is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gary Norman; loving children: Marc A. (Christopher Foran) Norman of Wooster; Shelli L. (David) Michel of New Philadelphia; and Michael T. (Sherri) Norman of New Philadelphia.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Natalie McVicker, Nicholas Norman, Laura Norman, Katie and Brad Haudenschild, Erica Gasser, Michele and Brett Warner, Ashley and Kory Ward, Carli and Cameron Casimir, Stephanie Norman, Anthony Norman, Zachary Michel, and Mallory Norman; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Todd Norman; her grandson, Nathen Michael Norman; and her sister, Frances (Joseph) Pietro.
Father Edward Keck and Deacon Mark Allison will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial of Marianne’s urn will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery with her family.
