Margaret Rose Beans, 88, of New Philadelphia, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Amberwood Manor surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born March 8, 1938, in New Philadelphia, Ohio to William E. and Alice Mae (Green) Wolf. She spent most of her life being a homemaker and was a sales associate at the former Hills Department Store in New Philadelphia.
Having never met a stranger, Margaret’s feisty personality was quite evident in conversations with those she encountered throughout her lifetime. She took pride in keeping her vibrant red hair styled. In her younger years, she enjoyed baking pies from scratch and spent many years playing on a bowling league. She enjoyed partaking in the CB radio community where her call name was Mermaid. She was also able to visit many states throughout her life.
In more recent years, she took pride in taking care of her flower garden and tomato plants. She was a longtime member of the New Philadelphia VFW where she enjoyed signing up for drawings and visiting with her many friends. Toward her later years, Margaret was blessed to be cared for by many great caregivers, among them were her granddaughter, Ashley.
Margaret is survived by her children, William (Bill) Beans of New Philadelphia, Lori (Daniel Heter) Beans of Dennison, and Steve (Lori) Beans of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Brandon and Brooke Heter, and Ashley and Kaeley Beans; sister, Virginia Ballentine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marilyn Stiffler; brothers, William and Dwight Wolf; and former husband Charles “Chuck” Beans.
A graveside will be held in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 1 PM with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
