Mabel Jewell

Mabel Jewell, age 89 of New Philadelphia, died Saturday evening, January 2, 2010 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.Born in Dover on February 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Hazel (Stewart) Seibert. Her lifetime was spent as a homemaker and was shared alongside her husband, the late Robert John Jewell, who preceded her in death on August 31, 1999.Her family includes her nieces; Carol LeMasters of New Philadelphia and Nancy Zesiger-Coleman of Louisiana, her nephew; Steve Googash of Miamisburg, O. and her two sisters-in-law; Mary Ersek of New Philadelphia and Carolyn Googash of Dover.Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home chapel at New Philadelphia. A funeral celebrating Mabel’s life will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. Entombment will follow the service in the East Avenue Cemetery mausoleum.
