M. Evelyn Kinsey

Martha “Evelyn” Kinsey, 95, of New Philadelphia passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in the care of Community Hospice at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Wilfred and Laura (McGuire) Dainty, Evelyn was born January 5, 1922 at Strasburg, Ohio.

Every Monday, Evelyn would take a grandchild out to dinner.  She was a member of a bowling league and a card club.  Evelyn also enjoyed playing Bunco with a small group of church friends and visiting Atwood Lake to ride a pontoon boat.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Philip (Connie) Kinsey; grandchildren, Melinda (Joe) Croft, David (Sarah) Kinsey, Sheri Hidey and John Kinsey; step-grandchildren, Kim (Woody) Richesson and Kris (Dave) Cardani; great-grandchildren, Paul (Isabella) Hanzel, Tiffany Hanzel, Michelle (Zach) Miller, Crystal Hanzel, Alexis Hidey, Kaya Kinsey and Tyler Kinsey; great-great-grandchildren, Noah, Ezra and Annabella; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Kinsey, whom she married December 31, 1941; sisters, Viola West, Lillian Parr and Jessie Stewart, as well as her partner, John Siebold.

Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2 to 3 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A service celebrating Evelyn’s life will follow in the funeral home’s chapel at 3 PM with Pastor Dode Overton officiating.  A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
