M. Diane Couch, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 14, 2025, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on March 11, 1942, Diane was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Mollie Miller Kinsey. After graduating from Dover High School in 1961, she embarked on a career in journalism with the Times Reporter Newspaper. Her professional journey later led her to spend 22 years as a regional manager at Ameridial, and she also proudly owned the former Plantasia stores in Dover and New Philadelphia.
Diane was widely admired for her vibrant and magnetic personality. With a warmth that could brighten any room, she truly never met a stranger. Her natural eloquence—fondly referred to by her family as “the gift of gab”—made her a captivating conversationalist whose charm enriched the lives of everyone around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Todd Couch, Tracey Couch, and Anthony (Laura) Couch; her grandchildren, Deanna (Seth) Winkle, Christopher (Kim) Smith, Ashley (Shaun) Faher, Nathan Couch, Kinsley Couch, Brielle Couch, Gavin Couch, and Delaney Roberts; her sisters, Yvonne Mobley and Janie (Jim) Franklin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her step-son, Mike Couch, and her sister, Kathee Riera.
In keeping with Diane’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private burial is scheduled at Dover Burial Park, with cremation arrangements managed by Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Ohio's Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663
