Linda L. Arden, 55, of New Philadelphia, passed into the loving arms of Jesus Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Community Hospice-Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born in Cambridge, OH, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Pauline P. (Whiteus) Scott. She held many jobs throughout the years, as a single mother, including being a substitute bus driver, bartender, factory worker, STNA, and unit clerk at both Hennis Care Center and Union Hospital.
Linda loved musical gatherings, shopping, collecting antiques, and being with her family and friends. She was the life of the party anywhere she went and always knew how to make people laugh with her quick witted remarks. She loved the beach in Florida, where she spent several years raising her daughter and later living with her sister, Lila (who has since passed). She often looked forward to visiting West Virginia to spend time playing cars and trains with her grandson, Rowan James. She was looking forward to loving on her newest grandson, Declan, who was born three weeks prior to her decline in health. Being a grandmother to her “boys” was one of her greatest joys.
She is survived by her daughter, Toby (Bryan) Devore of Ronceverte, WV; her two grandchildren, Rowan and Declan Devore; two sisters, Kenova “Lynn” Skelley and Nancy Little both of New Philadelphia as well as many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, William “Bo” Scott and Lila Christians, as well as a niece, Lauren Scott.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, she is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia and no public services are to be scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
