Lillian Maxine Chek, age 92, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died following a period of declining health on March 29, 2022.
Born on December 29, 1929, at Uhrichsville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late David and Lillie (Murray) McBeth. On June 2, 1953, she married her loving husband, Albert (Abe) Chek. Together they enjoyed 40 years of marriage before his passing.
In 1963, Lillian opened Chek’s Tax Service which she owned and operated until her retirement in 2009. It was one of her greatest prides that a 3rd generation is still serving the community. She was a lifetime member of the Uhrichsville Moose and of New Philadelphia First United Methodist Church.
Lillian is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Chek of New Philadelphia, Shirley (Terry) Robinson of New Philadelphia, and Doris (Rich) Torgler of New Philadelphia; she is also survived by grandchildren, Michael Chek, Michelle Prosser, Sherry Miller, Jason Robinson, Daphne Chek, Matthew Torgler, Misty Margo, and Jeff Swinderman; in addition, she has 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her two sons, Dean Chek and Albert Mark Chek; a daughter, Linda Wilson; brothers, Floyd McBeth and Roy McBeth; and sisters Doris Aldergate and Janet McBeth.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A service will begin at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery.
