Obituary

Leslie Duane Deibel, age 69, of Dover, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

A son of the late Earl and Margaret Riggle Deibel, Les was born in Union Hospital at Dover on October 11, 1956.

After graduating from Strasburg-Franklin High School in 1975, Les furthered his education at Kent State Tuscrawas where he studied History. Professionally, Les worked for the former Jenei Drilling for 35 years where he drilled and serviced water wells. For the past 15 years Les has been employed by Lowes at New Philadelphia as a stocker and assemblyman.

He was raised in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg and in the late 1990s joined Church of the Holy Trinity at Zoar. He was an avid fisher, golfer, and sports fan who enjoyed the Cleveland sports teams, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. His evenings were spent swimming in the family pool with his best friend, his canine companion, Arthur.

Les loved family time. It didn’t matter if he was traveling around the US and Europe with his wife, spending vacations with the extended family in the Outer Banks, or finding a new winery to try. He enjoyed the company of those around him.

Surviving is his wife, the former Andrea Osburn; their children, Alexander Deibel of Dover and Curtis (Elizabeth) Deibel of Uniontown; grandchildren, Luca and Scarlett Deibel and Jude and Noah Deibel; his siblings, Alan Deibel and Kathleen Deibel both of Dover; his mother-in-law, Louise Osburn and many brothers and sisters-in-law and their families.

In addition to his parents, Les is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Deibel and his father-in-law, Michael Osburn.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10 – 11 AM in the Church of the Holy Trinity, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be led by Fr. Brian Beal beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the St. Stephen Catholic Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to share in a time of food and fellowship following the services in the church social hall.
