Lee J. Sparks

Lee J. “Sparky” Sparks, 72 of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, following a sudden illness.A son of the late Ed and Lavinna (Pritchett) Sparks, Lee was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1937 at Newport, Ohio.For a number of years, Lee worked as a farmhand for area dairy farms and would ultimately retire as a laborer.Lee enjoyed listening to and talking on the C.B. Radio, using the handle “Saddle Sore”. He also enjoyed fishing and enjoyed watching football on television.Surviving are a daughter Jane Sparks-Markle and her former husband, John Markle; a former wife, Becky (Jones) Gardner; and a grandson, Thomas H. Markle all of New Philadelphia.There will be no visitation or services, cremation care will be handled through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
