Leanna Kay Lewis, age 60, of Dover, died Friday, January 23, 2026, while in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.

Born in Union Hospital at Dover on October 10, 1965, Leanna was a daughter of the late Gomer D. and Peggy Barker Lewis.

While attending Dover High School Leanna was a four-year member of the Marching Tornadoes, “The Most Awesome Band in the Land!”; where she made countless cherished, lifelong, friendships. After graduating from Dover High School in 1984, Leanna attended mechanic school at MTA in Columbus to further her passion for all things with gears and motors. She was a 20-plus year employee of Timken Steel at Canton, where she was a proud third generation steel worker like her father and grandfather.

Leanna was an avid fan and supporter of women’s sports. She loved following the US Women’s National Soccer Team, and all of the athletic programs at THE Ohio State University. Her true passion in life was working on cars and motorcycles. She was a lover of Dodge cars, the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, and Honda Super Magna Motorcycles. For many years she has worked on, rebuilt, and ridden many Super Magna’s; her pride and joy, the red 1988 which she was currently riding. She enjoyed many years of trips alongside her brother who was also her best friend. Additionally, Leanna attended, judged, and worked many motocross events for years throughout the state.

Leanna was survived by her brother, Gomer D. Lewis, II; two nephews, Thane Lewis and Cody Lewis; nieces, Becky (John) Bargar; Debbie (Will) Suddeth, Jennifer (Jack) Carling, and Samantha (Scott) Callen; numerous great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Leanna was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and a great-nephew.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no public services. Private burial will take place in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg at a later date. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling arrangements.
