Larry D. Goff

Larry Denver Goff, 69, of Freeport, passed away peacefully in Claymont Healthcare Center on September 2, 2023.

Born March 27, 1954 in Newcomerstown, he was the son of the late Floyd Denver and Loraine (Edwards) Goff.

After completing his formal education, Larry worked as a truck driver and filed worker for Echo Drilling.

In April of 1973, Larry married his wife of 50 years, the former Katherine Gray. They enjoyed being with their family and helped raise their grandchildren. Larry had a passion for working on cars, drawing, hunting and sharing stories. He never met a stranger.

In addition to his wife, Katherine, of Freeport, he is survived by his children, Larry “Dennis” (Burnadette) Goff of North Carolina, Brandi (Timothy) Gibson of New Philadelphia, and Wendy Sheppard of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brittany, Destiny, Larry, Ashlee, William, Jasmine, Chris, K.D., an Breanna; his step-grandchildren, Alex and Tyler; and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosemary Moore of Newcomerstown, Geri Goff of North Carolina, Richard Goff of Newcomerstown, Cheryl Kyle of Newcomerstown, and Steve Goff of Uhrichsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Alexander Michael Goff.

The Geib Funeral Home has been entrusted with Larry’s cremation care and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
