Larry Codi James Cross affectionately known by family and friends as “CJ” & “Codi” unexpectedly and so tragically passed away on July 31, 2024, just ten days after his 15th birthday.
Born July 21, 2009, Codi was the son of Lacoln K. Cross and Donald (Amanda) Gatchell.
Codi’s family will always remember him as a smart, outgoing and funny person. He loved to kayak and hunt. He especially enjoyed being with his grandpa Jim in the garage. Codi loved working with his hands and wanted to be an underwater welder after school.
Other things that brought him joy were spending time with his family, his dog, Jr, riding his moped and going camping at Sugarhill and Wills Creek.
In addition to his mom and dad, Codi is survived by his siblings, Lane Cross, Aryana, Adriana and Achilous Gatchell; step-brother, AJ Gatchell; grandparents, Jeanie and Jim Turnbull and Jo and Randy Bloom; great-grandmother, Rose Turnbull; aunts, Shianna (Zack) Law, Jessica Gadd, and Jennifer Hartman; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Codi was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Larry and Sylvia Cross and Frank Turnbull; his brother, Aurelius Gatchell; and his cousin, Clint Rainsburg.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Roxford Family Life Center on August 17, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m.
