Kim (Renicker) Goudy: September 16, 1970 – July 15, 2025.

Okay, deep breath, folks—she would want us to laugh first. So, here goes:

I was once asked, “What are your funeral wishes?” I replied, “Well, I’d like to not attend…”

(Relax friends—she’s smiling right now. And if you’re not, don’t worry—she always laughed at stupid dad jokes enough for the rest of us.)

Kim Renicker Goudy, 54, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with colon cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

The daughter of Ronald and Catherine Renicker of Midvale, Kim graduated from Indian Valley High School and Buckeye Career Center in 1989, armed with a sharp wit, a big heart, and hair that had just the right amount of Aqua Net.

Kim was the beloved wife of Terry Goudy, the guy who followed a girl in Daisy Dukes into Bentley’s Night Club thirty-one years ago and ended up meeting the love of his life. They were married December 8, 2001, and since then created a love story built on their daughters, teasing jokes, playful eye rolls, and a whole lot of love. They shared road trips, late-night laughs by the fire, and an unshakable bond that could weather absolutely anything—usually with a smart remark and a smirk.

But more than anything, Kim’s proudest title was mom. Her girls, Hunter (Konner) Demattio, Taryn Goudy, Hannah (Brock Fox) Goudy, and Danielle (Ben) Malczewski, were her sunshine and life’s purpose. She also wore the title of grammy with pure joy, lighting up at every mention of her precious grandbabies: Bryer Fox, Lucie Malczewski, and sweet baby Henry “Hank” Fox, due this October.

Kim was also the cherished big sister of Roni (Don) Kimberland and Andrea (Shawn) Leggett—sisters by blood but best friends by choice and spirit.

She went on to be many things: assistant manager at Speedway, “Kimmy” to the children she cared for in her in-home daycare, merchandiser for Nabisco, a world-class sister and friend, concert-going partner, and beach-chaser.

Kim was someone who found joy in the little things—especially live music, comedy shows, and sandy toes by the ocean. She had a warm, caring nature and a special gift for connecting with others. Kim also loved to cook and bake, often sharing her heart through her kitchen. Her cake balls and peanut butter blossoms were always a hit, and she proudly carried on the tradition of Jeanette’s peanut butter pie—forever a crowd favorite.

She leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends whom she held close to her heart. She now joins her beloved Shih Tzu, Oreo, her in-laws Hank and Jeannette Goudy, paternal and maternal grandparents and many cherished loved ones in whatever corner of the afterlife includes beaches, private concerts with Prince, and Facebook so she can watch over us all.

She hated being the center of attention so per Kim’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life—full of color, laughter, and stories—will be held at a later date. Though the family is grateful for all condolences, they ask that in lieu of flowers or meals, donations be made in her honor to Warrior Boutique in New Philadelphia, a cause close to Kim’s heart.

If love alone could have cured cancer, Kim would have lived forever. And while our hearts are shattered, we know her spirit lives on in every person she loved and loved her in return, every child she lifted, and every shared moment that became a memory. Kim’s light, love, and laughter will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
