Kevin L. Marshall

On March 6, 2024, surrounded by his family, Kevin L. Marshall, 60, of New Philadelphia was called to his heavenly home. He fought a battle with cancer that no one should have to fight, but he fought it head on with courage, dignity and faith, knowing that it would help those facing the same battle after him.

Kevin was born on April 14, 1963 to William Dennis and Eileen Clara (Shepherd) Marshall in Coshocton, Ohio. He was married on May 4, 1991 to the love of his life Sally (James). A 1981 graduate of Indian Valley North High School, Kevin was a natural gas and oil well compressor technician for many years with Resource America and Atlas. He had been employed by Diversified Energy as a mechanical technician prior to his retirement in December 2022. He was a skilled mechanic and welder who could fix just about anything, and was always generous in helping his friends and family.

Kevin loved traveling to new places and taking Gold Wing rides on back country roads with his wife Sally and his friends in the local Christian Motorcyclist Association, Thunder Valley Warriors. Kevin enjoyed time with friends and family, whether it was boating on the local lakes or simply hanging out. Zoey, the family fur-baby, was Kevin’s buddy, and was inseparable from him during the last year.

He was a member of the Roxford Church in Dennison. Kevin was a Scoutmaster and merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts for many years and belonged to the Sugar Hill Wildlife Club for a time, serving as president.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dennis and Eileen Clara (Shepherd) Marshall, and granddaughter Ambreonna Sky Engler.

Kevin is survived by his wife Sally, daughters Thomasina (Zach) McMath and Trista (Barry) Briggs, son Thad (Abby) Marshall, granddaughters Kaylena Engler, Gemma McMath, and Hailie McMath, stepmother Nancy (Titus) Marshall, sister Karma (Ron) Burton, brothers, Scott (Amber) Marshall and Shane (Erin) Marshall, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 2 to 3 PM where a funeral service will begin at 3 PM with Pastor Jim Manbeck from Roxford Church officiating. In keeping with Kevin’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
