Kelly Ann Garber

November 5, 1960 — March 6, 2022

Kelly Ann Garber, 61, of Strasburg, died Sunday, March 6, 2022at home with her family after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She has more than earned her eternal reward in Heaven and a reunion with her son, Lucas Garber, who preceded her in death in 2007.

A daughter of the late James and Janet (Divida) Burris, Kelly was born on November 5, 1960. She was a 1979 graduate of Strasburg High School.

On May 17, 1980, she married her high school sweetheart, Tim Garber. They would have celebrated 42 years in just a couple of months. Their story spanned their entire lives from 1st grade to present day. They had a marriage that many strive to achieve because they were a team in all things who put God first and loved each other so much.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Katie and Bryan Vickers and Caleb and Krystin Garber; and her granddaughters, the joys of her life, Peyton Vickers, Sydney Garber, and Maddison Bowers, all of Strasburg.

She is also survived by her sisters, Chris and Harry Wood, Kim Harper, and Stacey and Mickey Vickers; sisters-in-law, Marlene Barnhart and Adena and Ken Myers; and brothers-in-law, Jack and Tanya Garber, Gary and Tooie Garber, and Rich Garber; as well as many nieces and nephews. There are many friends who have become family who will be missing her also.

Kelly attended Dennison Foursquare Church with the family’s great friends, Pastors Rod and Susan Phillips. She most loved spending time with her family and friends, sketching, crafting, birdwatching, writing poetry, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, helping with 4-H, and enjoying each day on the family farm.

Kelly has left a legacy for all who knew her as an example of living for the Lord first, and begin an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had the most giving heart. She will be loved forever and never forgotten.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Tuscarawas County Community Hospice, especially to our earthly angels, Gale Muckley and Sonya Kohler.

Per Kelly’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation will take place at Geib Funeral Center at Dover with a private memorial service held at a later date on the family farm.

Per the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions may be made in Kelly’s honor to either Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 or Dennison Foursquare Church, P.O. Box 142, Dennison, OH 44621.
