Kaydean H. Cowan

Kaydean H. Cowan, 88, of Dover, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 in New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover, following a period of declining health.

Born in Gilmer County, West Virginia, Kaydean was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ola (Heckart) Bush and had retired from the United States Postal Service where she served as Postmaster in Smithville, West Virginia.

Kaydean was a former member of the Baptist Church in Smithville, West Virginia and also loved to read mystery novels and historical books concerning all of the American Presidents.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Henderson of Dover; daughter-in-law Theresa Cowan of Harrisville WV; two grandsons, Andrew (Shannon) Cowan of Wheeling, WV, Ashley (Penny) Cowan of Dundee and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Kaydean is preceded in death by her son, Thomas Cowan; an infant son, Danny Cowan; a grandson, Thomas Henderson; three brothers, Kenneth, Dallas and Paul Bush and the father of her children, Dennis Cowan.

In keeping with her wishes, Kaydean is to be cremated through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and a graveside service will be held in West Virginia at a later date.
