Kathy Marie Meese-Schreiner, 76, of Tuscarawas, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Trinity-Twin City Hospital at Dennison.
Born in Dennison, Kathy was the daughter of the late Philip B. and Esther J. (Eckhardt) Meese and was a proud graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in Tuscarawas. Her life journey was filled with passion, creativity, and a remarkable commitment to her family and friends.
Kathy had been employed at Allied Machine in Dover, where she dedicated her talents in the factory before leaving her employment to take care of her mother. She channeled her creativity into crafting, finding joy in making a variety of handmade items alongside with her mother. Among these treasures, she particularly cherished creating floral grave saddles for family and friends, a testament to her loving spirit and the memories she held dear.
Gardening was more than a mere hobby for Kathy; it was a way to connect with nature and share beauty with those around her. She took immense pride in her garden, often transforming the fruits of her labor into delicious canned goods. Among her delightful creations was the relish that she canned and homemade peanut brittle, which was a favorite treat for family and friends.
Kathy also found joy in dancing. She found great enjoyment in the camaraderie that line dancing and square dancing with the New Hall Dancers provided. These moments of joy allowed her to connect with others that shared the same passion.
Among her proudest accomplishments was her important work with the Kidney Foundation, where she traveled to Washington, D.C. and met with members of congress. Her advocacy and determination to raise awareness for individuals suffering from kidney problems illustrated her compassionate nature and her unwavering commitment to help those in need.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Dale H. Schreiner, of the residence; her sister-in-law, Karen Meese of Brecksville; a niece, Jodi Branco of Hinkley; four great-nieces and a great-nephew.
