Kathleen McKibben

Kathleen Rae McKibben, age 73, Hennis Care Center, Dover, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026, while in Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Kathy was born on September 29, 1952, in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Raymond and Emmy Horne Hug.

She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio, and on November 2, 1973, married Michael McKibben. Together, the couple raised three children and have shared in 52 years of marriage. Kathy enjoyed caring for her family and was known for her excellent cooking and baking skills.

She is survived by her husband, Michael of Dover; their children, Sarah (Michael) Marcovitz of New Philadelphia, Zachary McKibben of Dover and Nate (Kristy) McKibben of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Marcovitz, and Noah, Nora, and Niam McKibben; her sister, Joan (Paul) Anderson of Cuyahoga Falls; a niece, Natalie (Casey) Whitaker, and a great-niece, Claire Whitaker.

In keeping with her wishes, private services will be held with burial to take place in the Dover Burial Park. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling arrangements.
