Karen E. Page, age 59, of Dover passed peacefully on February 12, 2022, following an extended battle with cancer.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover on August 23, 1962, Karen was the youngest of eight children to the late Joseph and Arlene Weber Kandel.
Karen was a 1981 graduate of Dover High School and was known for her tenacious work ethic, strong will, and love for her family and friends. She touched many lives during her 30-year career at Hennis Care Centre, where she made lifelong friends with co-workers and patients alike. Her profession suited her selfless heart to help those in need despite the tough hours.
There was nothing Karen enjoyed more than shopping with her sisters, going to dinner with friends, rooting on her beloved Cleveland Browns, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Aside from family and work, Karen’s life passion was caring for her animals, which she did right up until her health would no longer allow her to do so.
Along with her husband, John Page, she is survived by her daughter Tiffany (Sam) Rehfus; sons Shaun (Ronalieen) Jackson, and Nate Page. Karen was the proud Grandmother “Gaga” to Jackson and Benson Rehfus, and Braidan and Penelope Jackson. Completing the family are her brothers and sisters, Mary (William) Ankney, Eileen (Ike) Smith, Larry (Deb) Kandel, Bev (Ray) Smith, Ron (Marijo) Kandel, Bruce (Christine) Kandel, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Kandel, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Kandel.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be led by Pastor Dotty Hartzel on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 3:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where the family will greet guests during a light reception from the conclusion of the service until 5:30 PM.
The family would like to thank all of Karen’s Doctors, especially Dr. Khan, and the nurses at Aultman Hospital for the wonderful care that they provided as well as all of her friends and family that have been with her throughout this journey.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the “Benefit Fund of Karen Page” at any First Federal Community Bank. Donations in person may be made at any branch location by direct deposit or mail: Attention: Karen Page Fund. A portion of these proceeds will be donated to the family of Blake Michel, a 7-year-old boy who is currently undergoing cancer treatments at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of Karen by visiting the funeral home website at www.GeibCares.com.
