Obituary

Julie Ann Gilbride (Ross) of Richmond, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 9 after experiencing a medical emergency, leaving behind family and friends who loved her beyond measure.

Julie was born on June 1, 1970 in Dover, OH. She was the daughter of Carol (Ross) Ault and the late James Ross.

She was a graduate of Dover High School and the University of Dayton where she studied accounting. More recently she provided research services for law firms.

Julie was a passionate and loyal person who found great joy in her family, traveling, food, music, sports, and adventure. She loved exploring new places and creating memories along the way, with her trips to Boone and Cape Hatteras holding a particularly special place in her heart. Wherever she traveled, Julie enjoyed discovering local restaurants and experiencing new flavors, though her favorite dining spots remained the Cajun Queen in Charlotte, NC, and Latitude in Richmond, VA.

Julie also had a lifelong love of sports and staying active. She loved watching baseball and was well on her way to visiting all of the MLB stadiums. She completed a triathlon and several half marathons, always challenging herself to reach new goals. She loved hiking trails and spending time outside, finding happiness and peace in the beauty of nature.Music was another important part of Julie’s life. An accomplished pianist, she loved sharing her talent with friends and family and bringing people together through music. She appreciated all forms of music, from a street saxophonist performing in New Orleans to a stadium concert or simply making song requests through Alexa at home.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Gilbride, and her cherished children Josh Dail and Lindsey Dail; stepchildren Jessica Gilbride, Katie (Adam) Burkhart, and Renee Gilbride; her mother, Carol (Ross) Ault; her brothers, Jeff (Heidi) Ross and Jamie Ross both of New Philadelphia; many nieces and nephews, Chase (Amy) Ross, Trisha (CJ) Shamp, both of New Philadelphia, Timberly (Alex) Pierce of Columbus, OH, Tyler (Katelyn) Ross of Brewster, OH; and great nieces and nephews, Cecelia and Caleb Shamp of New Philadelphia, Matthew, Melanie and Piper Ross of Brewster and Leo, Lillian, and Eloise Pierce of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, James Ross; her stepfather, James Robert “Bob” Ault; and her brother, Jonathan Ross.

Although Julie’s life was far too short, the legacy she leaves behind is one of love, togetherness, and joy. She taught those around her that life is best lived gathered around a table, sharing a meal, listening to music, exploring somewhere new, and making time for the people who matter most.
