Joanne E. Rhodeback, 91, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, in her home at Dover.
Born in Powhatan Point, Joanne was the daughter of the late John B. and Anna Mary (Pauline) Pizzini and was a 1952 graduate of the former St. Joseph High School at Dover. She had formerly worked at Miller Studio at New Philadelphia and was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.
Joanne exemplified the role of wife, mother and grandmother. Always kind and welcoming, she possessed a special gift for creating a home filled with laughter and delicious baked goods from her kitchen. However, Joanne's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, playing polka music and polka dancing.
She is survived by her three children, William “Bill” (Ruth Ann) Rogers, Joe (Karen) Rogers and Sally (Donnie) Warner, all of New Philadelphia; two step-children, four grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwight “Rhody” Rhodeback, a daughter, Judy Ann Rogers, a grandson, Joshua Rogers and five brothers and sisters.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia and a private graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
