Jean Gowins

Jean Marie Gowins, 83, of Dover, passed away in the care of Amberwood Manor on April 22, 2019 following a period of declining health.

Born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, on March 14, 1936, Jean was the daughter of the late Euin and Eula Mae (Scruggs) Fuqua.

Jean loved to garden, animals, crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren. Throughout her lifetime, she worked as an aid with developmentally disabled adults, as well as grooming dogs.

Jean married the late Robert Earl Gowins and they were blessed with the birth of four children, Kevin Gowins of Columbus, Robert (Randi) Gowins of New Philadelphia, Timothy (Cassy) Gowins of Florida, and Kim (Randy) Rose of Dover. Jean also was blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing by her brother, Edwin Fuqua.

A public graveside service will be held in Dover Burial Park on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2 PM with Pastor Brian Flood officiating.
