Obituary

Janice Elaine (Roth) Weber, 87, of Dover, passed away peacefully in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House on June 19, 2026.

Born September 30, 1938 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Donna Roth.

After graduating from Tuscarawas Warwick High School, she married the late Burdell E. Weber, in 1956. Together, they shared 48 years of marriage prior to his passing. They spent several years in California before returning to the Tuscarawas Valley in the l970’s.

While in California, Janice worked for Vons Grocery Company in their bookkeeping department. Upon return to Ohio, she worked for the former Beitner Tire for numerous years, ultimately retiring from Praxair Co.

Janice and Burdell enjoyed years of camping on the Muskingum River where they loved to fish. They also enjoyed some traveling in their retirement.

She is survived by her sons, Kent Weber of Dover and Marty (Mary) Weber of East Sparta; grandsons, Mathew Weber and Adam (Liz) Weber; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, McKenzie, Chase and Asher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning, June 23 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Phil Shuart will lead a service celebrating her life in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:30 a.m. A public graveside service will be held in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
