James Robert McRae, age 68, of Dennison, went home to be with the Lord and his parents, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, while in the care of Ohio’s Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born in Akron, Ohio on March 10, 1958, Jim was a son of the late Paul Ray and Janice Marie Warner McConnell.

Jim worked for many years as a manager for both Taco Bell and Wendy’s restaurants and has been with PTZ Insurance Company for the past 16 years.

Jim was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved watching the Cleveland Indians and playing online games.

He is survived by a brother, David W. (Dianna) McConnell; a special nephew and caregiver, David A. McConnell, with whom he resided and a special great-nephew Grayson A. McConnell as well as 11 nieces and nephews and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by siblings, Gerald “Jerry” McConnell, Paul “Dale” McConnell, Robert “Bob” McConnell, Lois Mazzoleni; his grandparents, as well as many aunts and uncles.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no public services. Private burial will take place in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tippecanoe. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.
