Jacqualynn Suzanne “Jackie” Sandy, 89, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Park Village Healthcare Center in Dover.
Born in New Philadelphia on June 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Helen A. (Hare) Wise.
Following her education at Sacred Heart School, Jackie married Vincent Sandy on September 1, 1956. Together, they were blessed with five children.
Jackie had a wonderful sense of humor and a special way of bringing laughter and joy to those around her.
She enjoyed spending her time crafting, particularly painting and cross-stitching, scratching off lottery tickets, and keeping busy on her iPad. Jackie was a great baker and loved bringing her family together for Sunday lunches and creating special memories around the table. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and serving root beer floats to her grandchildren became a cherished family tradition during holiday gatherings. She also had a special fondness for her grand dogs.
Jackie was a member of the LCBA at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. She also generously gave her time volunteering in the activity department at New Dawn Retirement Community for 18 years.
She is survived by her five children, John (Barb) Sandy, Michael (Susan) Sandy, Anthony “Tony” (Amy) Sandy, Mary Sandy, and Cindy Kaser; eight grandchildren, Jason Sandy (companion, Melisha Linsenbigler), Jessica (Ben) Wertz, Sarah (Jordan) Bourne, Scott Sandy, Kristi Sandy, Bo Sandy, Matthew (Ashlyn) Sandy, and Sierra (Gabe) Zenoby; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Keith Kaser; and siblings, Eileen Liberatore, Pat Kennedy, Mary Jane Wise, and Skip Ledger.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
Memorial contributions in Jackie's memory may be directed to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society.
