Ida Rose Mazzie, 90, of Dover, died Sunday, May 14, 2006 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.A daughter of the late David and Adele (Moratti) Menapace, Ida was born March 11, 1916 at Wainwright, Ohio.She attended Midvale School and was a member of the former St. Paul’s Catholic Church at Midvale.Ida enjoyed quilting as well as walking. She would walk many miles in a day. She was also an avid Cleveland Indians’ fan.She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Ogle of Strongsville, Ohio; one son, David (Linda) Mazzie of Aberdeen, South Dakota; two grandsons, Marc (Lisa) Ogle of Berea, Ohio and Ken (Tracey) Ogle of Delphos, Ohio; one great-granddaughter, Hayley Marie Ogle of Berea; one sister, Henrietta Haskett of Dover and many nieces and nephews.Ida was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis Mazzie who died in 1991; one infant son, Louis David who died in 1939 and four brothers and two sisters.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Father William Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made in Ida’s name to the American Cancer Society, 201-A West Ohio Avenue, Dover OH 44622.
