Helen Everett Myers

October 14, 1928 — March 23, 2024

New Philadelphia

Helen Dotts Everett Myers, 95, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024.

Born October 14th, 1928 in Mineral City she was the daughter of the late Homer Sr. and Anne Smitley Dotts.

Helen valued family over everything and she truly was the glue that held hers together. In her younger years, she worked tirelessly to raise and provide for her six children whom she loved with her whole heart.

Helen enjoyed a hot cup of coffee, sitting on her porch and looking at her plants, cooking family meals, and sleep-overs with her grandchildren.

Her grandchildren were her biggest treasure. Although she never told them “no” they learned many lessons through her actions. There is always room at the dinner table, there is always floor space for an extra sleeping bag, and there is always a spot for another holiday decoration. She was a true representation of a caring, patient, supportive, and loyal woman and they hope to carry on her memory using all the valuable lessons she taught.

Helen will be fondly missed by her sons, Gene “Bud” (Colleen) Everett, Mark Everett, and Jim (Darla) Everett; daughter, Melissa (Paul) Krichbaum; grandchildren, Ann, John, Kenny, James, Gena, Chris, Sarah, John, and Emily; 11 great-grandchildren; husband, Lemoyne Myers; brothers, Laverne “Chick” (Carol) and Richard “Dick” (Doris) Dotts; sister, Vicki (Bob) Todd; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph and Patrick Everett, her first husband, Gene Everett, her brothers, Homer Jr., Ronald “Jack” Sr. (Sandy), Jerry (Patty), and Donald “Tiny” Dotts and sisters, Gracie Dotts, Betty Champion, and Dorothy (Allen) Church.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
