Gary Eugene Baughman (76) was born in Dover, Ohio, and grew up in the Winfield area. He graduated from Dover High School where he played point guard on the Tornadoes basketball team and later attended Ohio Wesleyan University. For several decades, he owned and operated Home Engineering Company, a home improvement business previously owned by his late parents, Clark and Opal Baughman.

Known as "Buff" (short for "Buffalo") to his friends, Gary had a life-long passion for music. He played guitar in several rock bands as a teenager and spent many years writing and recording music in his home studio. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, boardgames, card games, gambling, and crossword puzzles. A highly-skilled craftsman, Gary built his own home and spent the next fifty years making additional improvements to it.

Gary is survived by his wife, Olga Olivia Baughman, along with her children, Sonia Armour (and husband, Joseph), Ricardo Builtron, and Jose Gonzalez (and wife, Rosemarie Graves), as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Gary is also survived by his two sons, Nathaniel Baughman (and wife, Heather Brooks) and Benjamin Baughman (and wife, Pamela), as well as his brother Randy Baughman (and wife, Janine), and his sister Sherry Maurer (husband Ron, deceased).

The family will greet guest on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A service honoring Gary’s life will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.
