Gabriel Ortega

Gabriel Lupe Ortega, age 2, died unexpectedly, early August 6, 2026, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.

A son of Autumn (Korey-Robert Oakes) of New Philadelphia and Frutuso S. Ortega, Jr. of Kansas, Gabe was born on April 28, 2024, in Burlington, Kansas.

Gabe had a wonderful personality. He loved being around people and touched the hearts of those he encountered. His favorite activities were feeding the ducks at Tuscora Park, watching the Cars movies, and anything Bluey. He deeply loved his stuffed lobster, Larry.

In addition to his mother and father, Gabe is survived by his baby sister, Lillian Beck; his grandparents, Heather (Andy) Moore and Kevin (Jessica) Beck, all of Wisconsin; and Belinda Ortega of Kansas; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service in Wisconsin is planned for a later date. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is assisting the family with Gabriel’s care.
