Francis Moore

Francis Moore, age 90, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Thursday May 11, 2023 in Community Hospice Truman House after a period of declining health.

Born on June 17, 1932, in Tuscarawas, Francis was a son of the late Edward Moore and Wilma Carpenter Moore Amicone.  He was a graduate of the former Tuscarawas-Warwick High School.  After graduation he serves in the United States Air Corps in Japan.  While serving in Japan he met Beverly Kennison.  They were married on May 30, 1953, and together celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in January of 2003.

Francis loved his dog, Buddy and would go to Denny’s daily to bring home bacon to share with Buddy.  In his younger years, Francis loved to go fishing with Beverly.

Francis is survived by his son, David Moore of Uhrichsville, daughter, Donna (Rick) Keener of Massillon; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Norris, Tiffani Keener, Kara Keener, Beth Moore, Shawn (Hunter) Moore, Calvin Hanlon, and Danielle Hanlon; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Fred) Mizer, Joyce (Bud) Henry, and Brenda (Roy) Arnold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Moore; daughter, Lori Hanlon; and brothers, Vernon Moore, and Ronald Moore.

A funeral service celebrating Francis’s life will be led by Pastor Jon Long at 11AM on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia.  The family will greet guests in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
