Frances Anne Maurer

Frances Anne Maurer, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 31, 1945 to Marion “Mike” and Frances Ravine (née Endres), she was the youngest of four children. A precocious and imaginative child, she was fiercely protected by her three older brothers, Stanley, Rockne, and Michael “Mickey” Ravine.

A woman of faith, she taught her children from a young age to depend on the Lord for daily bread, the power of love and kindness, and the redemptive grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. Over the years, she attended Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, Dover First Christian Church, and more recently, Dover Alliance Church. Although we are heartbroken, we do not mourn without hope and we cling to the knowledge she is with her Lord and Savior.

Mom had many special gifts and talents that she enjoyed sharing with her friends and family. She entertained many with her piano playing while employed at New Dawn Retirement Center, and later, Park Village. She also took pleasure in creating faux floral arrangements and decorating Christmas trees for Warther’s Museum. Following her retirement, she and her husband, the late Harland “Harley” Maurer, traveled many miles with the Classic Glass Corvette Club.

Anne’s true passion in life though was her family. A devoted mother, wife, and grandmother, she was known for her quick wit, gentle spirit, and caring nature. Whether she was cooking Harley his favorite meals, having wine night with her family, or shopping for her grandchildren, Anne put her heart into everything she did. Holidays were always a special event and she made every moment a memory, and they won’t quite be the same.

Left to grieve her absence are her five daughters, Jennifer (Troy) Poole of Dover, Jodi Hupp of Dover, Courtney (Bryan) Yingling of Dover, Lindsay (Jason) Kirschnick of Medina, and Correy (Josh) Henry of Dawson, Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Trevor (Nadia) Poole, Travis Poole, Andrew, Ben, and Samantha Hawk, John Demuth, Alfie and Auggie Kirschnick, and Brody, Scarlett, Gracyn, Amelia, and Madelynn Henry; two step-children, Rob (Jen) Maurer and Deb (Matt) Goodwin; and four step-grandchildren, Drew, Megan, Trace and Lily. She is also survived by many close relatives whose numbers are too many to count.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Maurer; parents, Mike and Frances; brothers, Stanley, Rockne and Mikey; and special sister-in-law, Bonnie Ravine.

Mom was our anchor when the storms of life became rough and our confidant when there was no one else to turn to. And we “thank you for being a friend.”

We would like to also thank the staff of Park Village and Crossroads Hospice for their compassion and empathy over the last two months.

In keeping with her wishes, Anne is to be cremated through the care of the Geib Funeral Center and Crematory at Dover and a Graveside service will be held in Dover Burial Park on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Jamie Blickensderfer officiating.
