F. Edwin Fisher, 91, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at Park Village Southside on September 3, 2025 following a period of declining health.
Born on September 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Frank Edwin and Inez A. (Miller) Fisher. After completing his formal education, Edwin worked alongside his family on their farm before beginning a dedicated 32-year career with Marsh Lumber.
A man of few words, Edwin was known for his quiet strength, loyalty, and devotion to family. He was a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved sister, Lois A. Fisher, with whom he shared the family home throughout his life; and by his nieces and nephews Louise Harding, Edna Harding, Larry (Linda) Harding, and Jean (Charles) Specht. His memory will also be cherished by his great-nieces and great-nephews Jessica (Nicholas) Schwartz, Juli (Lucas) Grove, Jared Harding, Justin (Whitney) Specht, and Terri (Josh) Benson; and by his great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews Quinn, Layla, and Evie Schwartz, Aubrey and Kennedy Grove, Ethan and Coy Specht, and Zane and Emery Benson.
In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, June and Warren Harding.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, New Philadelphia. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Bill Eckert, will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
